HOW TO: Permanently Delete Your Facebook

FB       After the countless complaints that Facebook has received there is FINALLY a feature that allows you to actually DELETE your profile. No, this is Not the same thing as deactivating. I’m going to walk you through the step-by-step process of how to delete your Facebook profile Permanently.

Before I show you the steps, I think it is VERY important for everyone to be educated on the issue that Facebook could very well be keeping amounts of information about you and your account in their databases even After this “deleting” process. It’s impossible to know or find out if they are or what they keep in their databases. I have been doing a lot of research on all of Facebook’s policies and have seen some very questionable statements that could provide Facebook with the loopholes that enable them to KEEP information about you in their databases. Although the public will not have access to this information, the authorities can request access to it.

Step 1) Back-up your Information

There are TWO categories of data that you need to back up before you delete your profile.  They are called “Downloaded Info” and “Expanded Archive.”

What’s the difference between the two? Your downloaded info includes your photos, videos, wall posts, messages, chat conversations, friends names, and their email addresses. Your Expanded Archive has information about your account history which includes IP Addresses of locations you log in from.

Get your “Downloaded Info”

First, sign into your Facebook and go to your “Account Settings” where you will click on the link towards the bottom of the page that says “Download a copy of your Facebook data.”download link

Then, Click the green box that says “Start My Archive.”

Now Facebook will take a couple hours to gather all of your information into a zip file. Facebook will send you an email when it is finished.

After you receive the email, sign back into your Facebook, go to account settings, click on “download a copy of your Facebook data,” and then download the zip file onto a location of your choice.

But be sure you save this data in a secure location or device!

Downloading your “Expanded Archive”

After you download your info you can choose to also download your Expanded archive. It contains information about logins, cookies, account status history, active sessions, ads clicked, current address or past addresses, ad topics, alternate name, apps you use, birthday, currency, deleted friends, your email addresses, family, friend requests, IP addresses, and MORE.

I recommend you download this information as well before deleting your Facebook.

If you go under account settings, click on the same link to “download your copy” as before. This time you will click on “expanded archive.”

You will be prompted to re-enter your password and then you can click the green box to “Start My Archive.” archive
